Natural Anti-Aging with Essential Oils

Cleansers, toners, lotions and serums are all part of the beauty arsenal to combat the effects of aging on facial skin. If you are looking for a way to amp up the anti-aging power of your skin care routine, try incorporating essential oils! Essential oils are concentrated, powerful plant extracts used to enhance wellness and beauty. Health and beauty enthusiasts are taking their cue from nature and using essential oils to address the effects of aging.

Best Oils for Anti-Aging

Many essential oils boast anti-aging benefits. Deciding which ones to add to your skin care routine is overwhelming! Here are five essential oils that are well-known for their roles in maintaining a youthful appearance:

Lavender Oil

Lavender is one of the most versatile essential oils available. It’s no surprise that it is packed with anti-aging benefits! It has moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties which promote skin elasticity.

Geranium Oil

Geranium oil is also an effective anti-inflammatory, making it a prime choice to keep skin supple and smooth.

Frankincense Oil

Frankincense adds multiple benefits to a skin care routine. Use it to boost moisture and treat scars, giving skin a fresh look.

Helichrysum Oil

Helichrysum has endless anti-aging benefits! Use it to address fine lines and wrinkles, support skin cell regeneration and provide soothing relief to the skin.

Clary sage Oil

Are you looking for a gentle solution for fine lines around your eyes? Clary sage is an effective wrinkle-reducer that is typically well-tolerated near the eyes. It can also be used on hair to keep tresses vibrant and healthy!

Staying Safe

If you plan to add essential oils to your skin care routine, keep these basic safety tips in mind:

1. Always check to make sure your essential oils are designed for topical use. If an oil is designed for only aromatherapy, it should not be applied to the skin.

2. Always dilute your essential oil with a carrier oil. I like using Fractionated Coconut Oil sold by doTERRA

3. Use an extremely small amount of essential oil. Essential oils are very powerful. Only a couple of drops is enough to be effective.

4. Do a test run. Mix a couple of drops of essential oil with a carrier oil and apply it to the inside of your arm. If your skin remains clear after 24 hours, give it a try on your face.

Put Your Best Face Forward!

Essential oils are a natural option to incorporate into your anti-aging skin care regimen. Nourish your skin with essential oils and enjoy a youthful, glowing complexion naturally!
